The Drop that Contained the Sea
The NMGMC will be partnering with other New Mexico choruses to present the Southwest premier of The Drop that Contained the Sea, a classical crossover by two-time Grammy award-winning composer Christopher Tin. A ten-song cycle that focuses on a Sufi concept that likens the way every drop of water contains the essence of the sea and how every human contains an essence of humanity, the work will be performed in multiple languages and will be presented at the gorgeous Sue Cleveland Concert Hall in Rio Rancho. The work will feature professional soloists and orchestra.

Annual Pride Concert
For many, June is the month of LGBT Pride. For nearly 40 years, The New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus has been a vital part of this time of year by presenting an annual Pride Concert. The music and theme for these concerts usually trends with national and world events that affect the LGBT Community. This year, the NMGMC goes global as we explore the history and struggle for LGBT equality in other countries, especially those where it can be life-threatening. Every movement for social justice creates music that inspires and motivates. Our performances will take place at The Hiland Theater on June 16 & 17.
