The New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus is a proud member of and was one of the first choruses to become a member of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses, Inc. (GALA Choruses). Every four years, GALA Choruses hosts the largest GLBT choral festival in the world. GALA Festival is a choral experience like no other. 6000 singers from LGBTQA choruses around the world, plus assorted musicians and special guest artists will converge in a 6-block GALA Village for five days of community, camaraderie, and song. These festivals play a very significant role in the lives of GLBT choruses and their members. Over the several days of the festival, each chorus presents a short music concert to an audience consisting of other GLBT chorus members. Some of these choruses are quite large with a hundred or more members and budgets to match, while others are smaller but no less committed to their mission.
