Even though we can't sing for our audience in the concert venues, we are continuing to sing together and prepare for the next time that we can! We are starting up virtual rehearsals and welcome anyone who wishes to join us. Click here to learn more about joining the NMGMC and how things are structured differently because of COVID.

5/10/2020:
We were forced to postpone our spring performances of “Unbreakable” in late March and early April. Our original plan at that time was to combine “Unbreakable” with our annual Pride concert in mid-June. The Board has come to the conclusion, however, that indoor concerts are not likely to be allowed that soon, and it’s unclear in any case if rehearsals for a chorus of our size would be allowed early enough for us to be ready to perform by then. Obviously, the health and safety of both our members and our audience is always paramount. So we have reluctantly made the decision to postpone that concert to a later date.
NMGMC continues to work with our performance venues to find dates later in the summer or early fall, in the hope that we can present a second concert this season.

3/12/2020:
The New Mexico Health Secretary issued a public health order temporarily prohibiting mass gatherings in New Mexico that bring together 100 or more people in a single space. This means that the upcoming Southwest premier of Andrew Lippa’s UNBREAKABLE will not occur as scheduled. While we are sad at the present postponement, the health and safety of our audience, volunteers and members continue to be our priority.
We are currently beginning talks with both the Lensic Theatre in Santa Fe and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque on options for future performances. We are also working with them on managing those who have purchased tickets. We will reach out to current season and individual ticket holders on options as soon as we know more.
We will share details of the rescheduling of UNBREAKABLE as they emerge. Stay tuned to our social media and emails for further details.
Thank you to all who have supported us throughout our 39 years. One of the numbers in UNBREAKABLE is called “Survivors.” That we are. Together, we will weather this storm.
Take care.
